I was writing in response to something i viewed on the news a few days ago. I saw a story of a man who risked his life to save another person's life by getting that person out of the way of a moving vehicle. The man was injured and taken to the hospital, when he wakes up to find that he is being charged with j- walking, and is required to pay a ticket. This man risked his own life for someone else and now we are punishing him? What kind of message is that sending to our community and our children! Do not help anyone else because you will get in trouble, no ones life matter but our own? I strongly believe that this is not the kind of message we want to be putting out. We need to be applauding and honoring this man for his heroic act, not slamming him with a ticket!
Sincerely,
